Sporting refreshed style, the 2023 Kia Telluride returns with several new trim levels. Moreover, every grade now comes with standard navigation and a 12.3-inch color touchscreen. The Telluride’s updated appearance comes from redesigned LED headlights, front bumper, grille, taillights, rear fascia, and lower door garnish trim. Kia is also tossing in three new exterior colors: Midnight Lake Blue, Dawning Red, and Jungle Wood Green.
Eighty-sixed for 2023 is the Telluride Nightfall Edition. However, Kia adds an X-Line bundle of features to the EX, SX, and the new SXP trim levels for 2023.
Kia also adds an X-Pro appearance bundle to the SX X-Line and SXP X-Line models. These changes swell the trim count from four last year to 10 this year. This means the 2023 Kia Telluride is available in the following trim configurations: LX, S, EX, EX X-Line, SX, SX X-Line, SX X-Pro, SX Prestige, SX Prestige X-Line, and SX Prestige X-Pro.
Every Telluride sources its go from a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6. An 8-speed automatic transmission ushers engine torque to the front wheels or all four wheels with AWD. It’s available on the LX, S, EX, and SX for a $2,000 upcharge. It’s standard on all other trim levels.
The EPA rates the front-wheel-drive (FWD) Telluride’s fuel economy at 20 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg in combined driving. Opting for AWD alters those numbers to 19 mpg/24 mpg/21 mpg.
Every Telluride also comes with the Kia Drive Mode selector, allowing the driver to pick from four driving modes: Sport, Comfort, Eco, and Smart. Each mode influences steering feel, transmission-shift points, and throttle response.

The LX may be the Kia Telluride’s introductory grade, but it’s loaded with up-level content. For example, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, remote start, and GPS-navigation-linked adaptive cruise control are standard.
Other standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic on/off projector LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and faux-leather seating. Also included are a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel and a one-touch slide/folding second-row seat.
Dual-zone automatic climate control also is standard, along with five USB power ports, three 12-volt power ports, seven airbags, hill-start assist, safe-exit assist, and high-beam assist.

The Telluride LX infotainment system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio capability. Navigation is standard, too.
Kia takes passenger safety seriously and outfits the Telluride accordingly. It installs forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Also included are lane-following assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and rear-park assist. Adaptive cruise control (with stop and go) is the backbone of the Highway Driving Assist that can steer, brake, and accelerate the Telluride in certain conditions. A driver-alert warning is standard as well.
The LX (and S) also can be ordered with an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Adaptive cruise control – Thanks to a GPS link, the adaptive cruise control will react to upcoming curves if the preset speed is too high. It also features full stop-and-go.

Hands-free power liftgate – With the key fob on your person, sticking your foot under the rear bumper will cause the liftgate to open automatically.

Kia refers to the new X-Line as an adventure-ready package. It does include AWD with AWD lock and Snow modes, as well as nearly half an inch of added ground clearance. It also gains a self-leveling rear suspension, upgraded roof-rack rails, and second-row captain’s chairs. The X-Line upgrades add a heated steering wheel, too.
The cosmetic touches are X-Line badging inside and out, plus an enhanced grille, body-colored door handles, and lots of dark trim elements.
